Including the ones most sites in this business avoid.
Every answer here is one the site can back from its own pages. If yours is not covered, ask on the beginners’ page — it answers in plain words and will tell you when it does not know.

- Can I place a bet here?#
- No. CacheOut is not a sportsbook. We take no bets, hold no money and aren't licensed to accept wagers anywhere. Anything you do with our picks happens at a sportsbook you choose, under its rules.
- Do you sell picks?#
- No. No pick packages, no "lock of the week," no private channel. The boards, the alerts and the full record are free, and the record is published whole, including the picks that lost.
- What does it cost?#
- Nothing. Every board and every alert is free with an account. No card, no trial. We do not sell your data. If we ever add a paid option, we'll email you at least 30 days before, and your free account won't turn into a paid one on its own.
- How do you make money?#
- Right now, we don't. CacheOut is free. We don't sell your data, run sportsbook ads or use affiliate links, so no sportsbook pays us anything when you sign up or place a bet. We earn nothing when you bet.
- Will following your picks make money?#
- Probably not on their own, and we'd rather tell you than have you find out. Our pre-game picks start from the sportsbooks' own odds with their cut removed, so betting every one would roughly break even over time, and lose a little after the sportsbook's margin. The record shows this in units. What we offer is the timing, not a secret forecast.
- Do you use AI?#
- Yes, for one specific job. Before NFL games, an AI model reads recent injury, lineup and weather news and writes a short news read. It's shown beside the pick, never blended into it, and graded against the result like everything else. It doesn't make the pick. The question box on Start here also uses AI and can be wrong.
- Where do the numbers come from?#
- Scores, schedules and odds come from data feeds: API-Sports for the NFL and college football, ESPN's public scoreboard (the DraftKings line) for the NBA, NHL, MLB and soccer, and Data Golf for golf. No number on a board is typed in by hand.
- What does "locked before kickoff" mean?#
- The pick was saved in our database two hours before kickoff, while the game was still unplayed, and the timestamp shows when. Before that, a board's pick is provisional. Once saved, it is never changed. That's what makes the record a record, not a story told afterward.
- Why does a game have no pick yet?#
- No sportsbook in our feed was quoting it yet. Picks usually post 1–2 days before kickoff. A game with no odds never enters the record, which is why we publish coverage next to results.
- What is a cash-out alert?#
- An email we send during an NFL, college football or NBA game when a pick we published has become clearly more likely to win than it was before kickoff, and the game is still running. The exact rule is on How it works. It tells you the window is open and where the pick stands. It doesn't tell you to cash out, and it can't do it for you. The NHL, MLB and soccer get a pre-game email instead.
- Which sports get alerts?#
- NFL, college football and the NBA get live cash-out alerts. The NBA, NHL, MLB and soccer get a pre-game email listing that day's picks. Golf is board only. You choose your sports at sign-up and can change them on your account page.
- How fast are alerts?#
- Usually within a minute or two of the play. Scores reach us in batches from a third-party feed, so an alert can occasionally land after the moment has passed.
- Do I need an account?#
- The homepage (including a playable Calculator+), the method, the FAQ, Results, every pick page and Coverage are open to everyone. Every board, the schedule, both calculators and the emails need a free account. We keep your email address, a password, when you confirmed you're 21 or older, and the sports you follow, and you can change your sports or turn emails off on your account page.
- Are you affiliated with any league or sportsbook?#
- No. No league, team or governing body is involved with or endorses CacheOut, in football, basketball, hockey, baseball, soccer or golf. We have no affiliate links and run no sportsbook ads.
- I think I'm betting too much. Where can I get help?#
- Call or text 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537). It's free and confidential, 24/7. Most sportsbooks also let you set deposit limits or take a break from your account settings.

Start here explains the whole thing from the beginning, with a question box on the page. How it works is the detailed version, and the glossary defines every term either of them uses. The record is where you check any of it.
